The songs of Santa Barbara natives will resonate through the halls of a historic landmark this weekend.

RedStar Productions will hold the first concert of its “RedStar Acoustic Series” at the Presidio Chapel of Santa Barbara on Saturday at 8 p.m. The series, scheduled to take place on the second Saturday of every month, will feature local bands and benefit the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation, an organization which maintains historic sites throughout Santa Barbara, such as the chapel.

RedStar representative Greg Brooks said the concert features the sounds of local artists Heather Stevenson, Antara & Delilah, John Mooey and Bill Lamphar.

“[The music] all has a lyrical and poetic quality. You will be hearing beautiful voices together with original songwriting. Much of the music is based on the experiences of the artists here in Santa Barbara,” Brooks said. “The acoustics in the chapel are spellbinding. It is the most pristine listening environment I have ever experienced. [The Presidio Chapel] is an incredible secret.”

RedStar Productions, a Santa Barbara company promoting local musicians, first collaborated on a concert with the SB Historic Preservation in 1999. Brooks said audiences’ positive responses to past concerts have been overwhelming.

“People would just grab me and tell me that the music was a moving and incredible experience for them. This is all very exciting,” he said.

Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door or online at . The Presidio Chapel is located at 123 E. Canon Perdido.
