Wednesday night’s five-hour Associated Student Senate meeting covered a wide array of issues affecting students, from the proposed University Center renovation project to Halloween, as well as matters of campus climate.
This Wednesday’s Associated Students Senate meeting focused on several upcoming projects, including a $7,000 projector to be installed near the dorms at San Miguel Stage, the Associated Students Annex in Isla Vista and the Community Financial Fund.

Associated Students Senate voted down a resolution that would have expressed “no confidence” in new UC President Janet Napolitano’s ability to uphold the university’s mission statement, during last night’s 5-hour meeting.
Last night marked the first Associated Students Senate meeting of the 2013-2014 school year, opening the way for students from several campus organizations to propose a resolution criticizing the appointment of Janet Napolitano as the new president of the University of California, amidst controversy over her work in U.S. immigration issues.
