The UC Police Department and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office are investigating four similar reports of robberies that occurred Sunday night, according to an alert sent out by the UC Police Department on Tuesday. 

All of the robberies occurred on Sunday between approximately 8:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. both on campus and in Isla Vista, the alert states. In one of the incidents, as described in the alert, the suspect “attempted to rob the reporting party and threatened to pepper spray them” around 8:30 p.m. on the bike path near Student Health. 

The suspect is described as a 5’8” male adult with short black hair, brown eyes and a mustache. He is reportedly between 20 and 30 years old and was wearing a blue hoodie. 

UC Police Department is investigating the attempted robbery near Student Health, while the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s office is investigating the three that occurred in Isla Vista.
