Smoothies are some of the most refreshing and nutritious options to enjoy during the hot, summer days. One of my favorite things about making smoothies is the abundant freedom in deciding what goes in them. Whether you’re looking for a satiating meal, a post-workout drink or even a midnight snack, they can be the perfect option. Here are three delicious and easy-to-make smoothies you can enjoy this summer.

Mixed Berry Smoothie

Blend:

Ice

1 cup of frozen berries

1 tablespoon of chia seeds

1 tablespoon of flax seeds

1 tablespoon of almond butter

1 cup of almond milk

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder of your choice

 

This smoothie is a delicious way to get in some healthy fats and omega-3s. It is my favorite smoothie to have right when I wake up in the morning and gives you a great kick-start to your day.

Greens Smoothie

Blend:

Ice

1 cup of spinach and kale 

Half an avocado

1 cup of almond milk

Pinch of cinnamon

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder of your choice

 

The best thing about this smoothie is it can be enjoyed at any time of the day and serves as a great replacement for any meal. If you aren’t a big vegetable person, this is the perfect way to get in some greens without the taste.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

Blend:

Ice

1 banana

2 tablespoons of PB2 powder or 1 tablespoon of peanut butter

1 pitted date

1 tablespoon of cacao powder

1 cup of almond milk

1 scoop of chocolate protein powder of your choice

 

For anyone with a sweet tooth, this is the perfect smoothie that incorporates everyone’s favorite flavor combination of chocolate, banana and peanut butter. It’s a great healthy alternative for a dessert or midnight snack.
