International Hour at Woodstock’s Pizza

International Hour happens every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Woodstock’s Pizza! Come hang out with international students and members of the Office of International Students and Scholars. If you get to the event early enough, you’ll get a piece of Woodstock’s Wildebread, but otherwise you have the option to order pizza and a pitcher of beer. Don’t even worry about RSVP’ing, just swing on by!

Shopping on a Budget

Are you wondering about how to eat well while still having enough money in your bank account? Come to the Isla Vista Vista Food Co-Op from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10 to learn about shopping on a budget! The Co-Op will be providing an interactive meal that you’ll be able to take home, and that affordable meal will be made based on affordable shopping methods – bring your friends! Free snacks will be provided. There will be a raffle as well, and you’ll have a chance to win a copy of Good and Cheap: Eat Well on a $4/Day by Leanne Brown.

Think Pink

In honor of breast cancer awareness month, celebrate with a four course all pink meal hosted by Chabad UCSB and Sharsheret this Friday at 7:30 p.m at 779 Camino Pescadero. Participants will also have the chance to hear from a breast cancer survivor.

Fair Trade Coffee Break and Banana Bread

What better way to kick off the start of fall than to taste fresh coffee and chocolate chip banana bread with your friends at the Co-Op! Allison, the Sustainability Coordinator at the Co-Op, will be giving a talk about the different Fair Trade Organizations that the Co-Op supports. This tasty and informational event is Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 6575 Seville Rd. Come by and show your support for food and fair business!

Deadpool 2 Screening!

Still bummed about missing out on the premiere of Deadpool 2 at UC Santa Barbara last year? You’ll have another opportunity to see the movie this weekend at Script to Screen: Deadpool 2 at Pollock Theater on Saturday at 2 p.m. Screenwriters and Executive Producers of the movie Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be there for a post-screening discussion of the movie. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for community members, but you can use the coupon code “Facebook” to get 20% off your ticket.

Pardall Carnival

Join your fellow Isla Vistans at the annual Pardall Carnival and Meet Your Neighbor Day this upcoming Saturday. Vendors and organizations will line the street where people will gather from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Take a break from studying and stop by with friends and get to know the tight-knit community of Isla Vista. Speaking of, the Daily Nexus will have a booth, so do not forget to stop by and say hey – We’d love to meet you!

KCSB-FM Meet Your Neighbor Day

Do you like music? Community? Free food? Are you interested in getting involved with one of the most eclectic and chill organizations on campus? If the answer is yes to any of these, then stop by Anisq’oyo Park at 966 Embarcadero del Mar on Saturday for a KCSB Meet your Neighbor Day! This fun filled event will begin with a free pancake breakfast from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Then, there will be performances by Serpent Season and Jack Kilgore from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Special appearances by KCSB’s very own DJs, The Crypt Keeper and Alla. You won’t want to miss out on this unforgettable afternoon!
