The owner of iV Menus, an Isla Vista food delivery business, was arrested on four felony charges on Dec. 18. He is currently booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Patrick Galoustian, 45, a UC Santa Barbara alumnus, has owned and operated iV Menus since 2008.

He was arrested on charges of kidnap to commit robbery or rape, rape of drugged victim, and two counts of oral copulation by use of force or injury.

Galoustian pled “not guilty” during his arraignment on Wednesday morning, according to Deputy District Attorney Wesley Meyer.

His bail is currently set at $1 million, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office inmate website.

Kelly Hoover, Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, said Galoustian was arrested in connection to a rape that occurred on Dec. 17. The UCSB Police Department received the report of the rape on Dec. 18, according to a “timely warning” that UCSB sent to students on Dec 19.

According to the alert, a suspect sexually assaulted a female victim while she was unconscious at his residence, 910 Embarcadero del Norte.

Galoustian lives at this address and operates iV Menus from his home. Businesses at this address include Campus Cuts, Dublin’s Sports Grill, Precious Slut Tattoo and iV Menus.

The alert said neither the victim nor the suspect are affiliated with UCSB.

iV Menus was closed on Tuesday, according to an iV Menus employee.

Galoustian taught a beginner’s taekwondo course with 16 students at Santa Barbara City College in 2007. According to course catalogs from SBCC, Galoustian has not taught the course since the summer of 2007.

His criminal history is limited to six traffic infractions, one non-vehicle infraction and one small claims settlement, according to the Santa Barbara Superior Court website.

Galoustian’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 11.
