The third robbery in Isla Vista since Sunday morning occurred Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. on the 6600 block of Sabado Tarde Road.

According to an emergency alert from the UCSB Police Department (UCPD), four to five suspects committed the robbery. UCPD described the suspects as black male adults and advised residents of the area to be on high alert, as the suspects escaped and are currently being pursued.

The first robbery in the series was reported at approximately 4:30 a.m. on May 3 at 6530 Seville Rd. and involved three suspects that still remain at large, according to a UCSB alert.
UCSB alerts said one of the suspects could have potentially possessed a firearm.

According to another UCSB alert, five suspects were arrested for the second robbery that occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on May 4 near campus, with a sixth suspect still outstanding.

“He is described as a white male in his 20’s, 5’11”, 165 lbs., wearing a dark hoodie, and was last seen headed southbound towards Trigo,” the alert states.

The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s department is investigating all three robberies and has not commented on whether or not the three robberies are connected.

UCPD encourages all students to lock their doors and windows, keep valuables out of plain sight, close all curtains and blinds at night and call law enforcement immediately upon observing suspicious activity.
