Local officials have announced a sobriety checkpoint will be placed on campus for one night later this month. On May 10, local law enforcement will operate a checkpoint from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. the next morning. According to a press release from the UCSB Police Department, there will be increased police force on campus during this time, and students may have to stop their cars when driving through campus.

“During this period you will see an increased police presence (vehicles and officers) and you may be directed to stop if you are operating a motor vehicle,” the press release stated.
