The Super Bowl is more than just an athletic event; it is a cultural phenomenon. It is the biggest and by far the most highly-watched television event in the country each year.

This year’s Super Bowl is unique in featuring two head coaches who are brothers and a somewhat local team in the big game. Santa Barbara is nowhere near the Bay Area, but with so many students from the Bay living in I.V., it sure feels as if the 49ers are the hometown team.

Whether you plan to watch for football, commercials or just to see your Bay Area roommates lose their shit every time the Ravens score, this Sunday promises to be an enjoyable day for all, especially if the Niners win. Enjoy Super Bowl Sunday, everyone!
