Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested two men Monday morning in Los Angeles for their alleged involvement in the Feb. 18 Isla Vista brawl that put three people in the hospital.

According to a SBCSO press release, 19-year-old Jon-Kane McCullough and 21-year-old Sean Robert Flynn were arrested on charges of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a 20-year-old male in the abdomen. The suspects, who were arrested in Venice, CA, are currently being held in the Santa Barbara County Jail on $1,000,000 bail each.

According to witnesses, the fight began shortly after midnight and spanned across several streets in Isla Vista. In addition to the stabbing victim, who was released from the hospital a few days after the incident, a 21-year-old male was beaten unconscious and hospitalized for head injuries and a 24-year-old male was hospitalized for a knife slash across the hand. McCullough was also booked for assault with a deadly weapon in addition to attempted murder for the latter attack.

According to SBSO Public Information Officer Drew Sugars, investigators are searching for additional suspects and estimate that between six and 20 people were involved in the initial altercation and subsequent violence.

“We are looking for anyone who may have witnessed it to come forward and help our detectives,” Sugars said. “There could be more charges coming — there are none beyond this, but there could be more.”

Sugars said the suspects are not UCSB students and are believed to have driven to Isla Vista with a group of friends on Friday in search of entertainment. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division assisted detectives in McCullough and Flynn’s arrests.
