The Isla Vista Foot Patrol responded to an assault and several alcohol-related crimes this weekend.

Deputies received a report of a physical assault Saturday night on the 6600 block of Sueno Road. According to IVFP Lieutenant Ray Vuillemainroy, the victim was unable to identify his assailant.

“The victim was walking down Sueno when he was attacked by an unknown suspect who punched him in the face, requiring stitches,” Vuillemainroy said. “He did not know why the suspect attacked him.”

Vuillemainroy said detectives are still investigating the case.

Officers also dealt with a large number of alcohol-related disturbances throughout the weekend, citing 30 people for minors in possession, 14 for open containers and two for noise ordinance violations. The IVFP also arrested 12 people for public intoxication.
