I just want to confirm a few things in the NBA that nobody can agree on. This is meant to be the be-all end-all of NBA basketball lists, as the league stands in 2011. Any opinions that sway from the following are wrong. These are the obvious:

1. LeBron James is the best athlete in the NBA

2. Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player in the NBA

3. Chris Paul is the best point guard

4. Derrick Rose is the 2011 Most Valuable Player

5. Michael Jordan is the best player there ever was, and

the best there ever will be

6. Kobe Bryant is the best-looking player in the NBA

7. Joakim Noah is the ugliest

8. The Western Conference is better than the Eastern

Conference

9. Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals was

probably rigged

This next section elicits the less-obvious:

1. Chris Bosh is the most overrated player in the NBA

2. Dirk Nowitzki is the most underrated

3. 3D television will not make basketball better to

watch

4. Professional athletes work harder than the rest of us

5. Lamar Odom is the second-best athlete in the NBA

6. The white man’s statistic (assists) was invented so

that he could maintain his value in an era of more

athletic black players

7. Hockey groupies are a lot hotter than basketball

groupies

8. There shouldn’t be any Northern California-born

Laker fans

9. The actions of NBA referees control the outcome of

games more than in any other sport

Playoff Predictions (Now and Future) — these could be wrong:

1. Memphis over San Antonio

2. Derrick Rose wins a championship before LeBron

3. So does Blake Griffin

4. None of them win until Kobe retires (second and

third retirements excluded)

5. Dwight Howard never wins a championship

6. Neither does Dirk Nowitzki

7. Chicago wins the 2011 and 2012 Eastern Conference

Championships

8. The Lakers win the 2011 NBA Championship
