1. “Frank & Cindy” is filmmaker G.J. Echternkamp’s account of the relationship between his mother, Cynthia Brown, and his father – one-hit wonder pop star Frank Garcia. The film won the Best Documentary Award at England’s Raindance Festival and was featured on an episode of Ira Glass’ “This American Life.” It screens at 4 at the Center Stage Theatre tonight.

2. This is the greatest and best film in the world – tribute. That’s right, “D Tour: A Tenacious Documentary” about comic rock superstars Tenacious D hits the Lobero Theater at 7:30 tonight. Following the band after the release of their unexpectedly unsuccessful film “Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny,” the documentary is an exclusive and revealing look at Jack Black and Kyle Gass.

3. “War Dance” showcases the stories of three children living in a displaced persons camp in Uganda, who end up competing in the country’s music and dance festival. It was nominated for a Best Documentary Feature Award at the 2008 Academy Awards, and it screens at 1:30 p.m. at the Metro Four on Feb. 1.

4. “A Snow Mobile for George” captures filmmaker Todd Darling’s odyssey to find out why the country’s emissions laws allow for his family’s snow mobile to belch so much smoke. As he traverses the country, snowmobile in tow, he explores environmental policy from every angle and creates a captivating film about the state of the world today. “A Snow Mobile for George” screens at 9 p.m. in the Victoria Hall Theater on Feb. 2.

5. Israeli film “Noodle” tells the story of widow Miri, who ends up adopting a child left behind by her housekeeper. As the child brings Miri closer to her divorced sister, the two women learn the proverbial valuable lessons and turn in performances that gained the film nominations at the Awards of the Israeli Film Academy and the Montreal World Film Festival. The movie screens at 1:30 p.m. in the Lobero Theater on Feb. 3.

6. Colin Farrell’s new comedy “In Bruges” has it all – action, humor, pathos and plenty of hot men speaking with sexy Irish accents. Check it out at a special sneak preview put on by Magic Lantern Films and the SB Film Festival in I.V. Theater on Feb. 1. The film screens at 7 and 10 p.m.
