An unknown suspect or suspects vandalized the Manzanita Village construction site with anti-Semitic graffiti last weekend.

The orange graffiti, which appeared sometime on Friday, was found on several buildings in the northeast section of the project. Police reported that a portable toilet was overturned during the same time period.

Police are listing the incident as a hate crime because of the nature of the graffiti, University of California Police Dept. Capt. Bill Bean said.

“What appears to be a signature of the offender and the date of the offense was found in the graffiti as ‘T.Rap 4-5-02,'” he said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the UCPD at 893-3446.
